Worms are worms that parasitize the human body. Some of them are not able to cause serious damage to health, others are very dangerous. How can a person get a worm? Symptoms of helminths will not harm everyone. And most importantly - how to get rid of these uninvited guests?
When to suspect worms?
If an adult is worried about constant nausea, headaches and coughing, then they start looking for something, not helminths. Meanwhile, they are often the cause of the appearance of these symptoms. If parasites are trapped in the body, then they begin to actively multiply, destroying tissues in the process of life and releasing toxins. The number of worms in the human body can reach hundreds or even thousands of individuals. The body can tolerate the presence of these "guests" for a while, and then the following symptoms of worms appear in an adult:
- frequent dry cough not treated with syrups and antibiotics;
- poor appetite;
- allergic skin rash, eczema, urticaria, acne, boils, papillomas;
- prolonged runny nose (without other signs of a cold);
- intestinal problems - bloating, constipation;
- decreased immunity and, as a result, frequent acute respiratory infections;
- grinding of teeth (due to overload of the nervous system);
- weakness, irritability, irritability, depression;
- pain in the joints;
- enlargement of lymph nodes.
Some types of helminths "think" of themselves with specific symptoms. Thus, pneumonia, diarrhea and abdominal pain can occur with ascariasis.
If there is a large tapeworm in the body, dizziness and abdominal pain occur. During defecation, the worm fragments come out in the feces. A person who continues to eat normally loses weight quickly. Anemia develops later.
Bull tapeworm is located in the liver, which causes pain in the right hypochondrium.
Pinworms cause unbearable itching in the anus. Itching of this area results in dermatitis and inflammation.
Teeth grinding in children and other signs of helminthic infection
Children are most susceptible to helminthic infestations because they often do not follow the rules of personal hygiene and put everything in their mouths. The presence of a parasite in a child's body can be suspected by the following symptoms:
- heavy saliva (including during sleep);
- hyperactivity, restless behavior;
- itching in the anus, so the child can not sit for almost a minute;
- increasing demand for sweets;
- dry hair and brittle nails;
- peeling of the skin on the eyelids;
- anemia of unknown origin;
- lethargy and drowsiness;
- susceptibility to frequent colds.
In what organs can worms live?
In total, there are about 250 species of worms. They choose different organs to live, such as the kidneys or the eyes. Some types of parasites are located in the skin and muscles. They are even in the blood. However, most still live in the gastrointestinal tract.
Very often worms are located in the human liver. Symptoms of "settlement" of the body do not appear immediately after infection. The first signs of invasion sometimes occur after 6 months. A person suddenly begins to lose weight or gain weight rapidly. Eczema and even psoriasis can occur.
Some worms attach to the liver, causing it to malfunction and causing anemia. Others (eg, echinococcus) form a chitinous capsule that grows around them and interferes with the body's function. A person's skin turns yellow, there is pain on the right side and digestive problems.
There are also characteristic signs of the presence of worms in the liver of a person - chronic fatigue and sleep disorders from 2 to 3 o'clock in the morning when the liver is working in an intensified mode.
Worms living in the liver can cause asthma.
Worms - the fight: drug treatment
Although symptoms are one of the most important factors in the diagnosis of worms in a person, treatment is prescribed only after the results of the analysis. A stool test is often prescribed. But this is an unreliable method: sometimes it is possible to detect parasites only after 8-10 attempts. A more accurate diagnosis is a vegetative resonance test.
The easiest way to detect pinworms. To do this, scrape a piece of skin over the anus and then examine it under a microscope.
When a parasite is detected, treatment begins. It is carried out in several stages:
- preparation. It consists of the removal (or reduction) of toxins that result from the vital activity of helminths. To do this, use activated carbon;
- taking anthelmintic drugs. A good effect is the use of broad-spectrum anthelmintic drugs;
- recovery. The purpose of therapy is to strengthen the immune system (this is done with the help of echinacea), to normalize the intestinal microflora and restore the liver.
Traditional medicine against worms
If it is decided to use folk remedies to remove worms from a person, the symptoms should also be taken into account. If there are signs of infection with pinworms, it is recommended to use an infusion of garlic, tansy or wormwood.
A popular way to get rid of worms is garlic milk. Can be drunk with bread and garlic. This composition is suitable for enemas. To do this, 1 tbsp. Boil a large head of garlic in milk. Then cool, strain and put an enema with such a solution. The procedure is repeated every day for a week.
Folk healers are advised to drink 1 tablespoon on an empty stomach for a month. l. garlic juice. Take 6-8 cloves garlic, crush, mix with 1 tbsp. chilled boiled water. Strain the solution. You can make microclysters with such water.
Cats can be transmitted from cats. It is believed that this worm is afraid of grated apples mixed with carrots and field. Drug composition ratios: 1 tsp. carrot-apple mixture and 1 drop of tar. Consume on an empty stomach.
To destroy the tapeworm, it is enough to drink 1 tablespoon in the morning (on an empty stomach). 1 tsp soluble water. salt.
If the type of parasite is not known, but people have all the symptoms of worms (the symptoms of infection with different parasites may not differ much), then it is possible to prepare a composition that destroys almost all helminths. It should be mixed in equal proportions crushed wormwood, centaury, cumin, ground pumpkin seeds (peeled). Add 2 parts ground cloves, 4 parts pre-fried flax seeds, ground tansy flowers to the listed ingredients. Chop everything in a coffee grinder, pour into a glass jar.
Take such a composition according to the scheme. Need to eat 1 tsp per day. collection for cold boiled water with honey, 30 minutes before breakfast. The composition is consumed for 2 days before breakfast and lunch. Then, between 3 and 7 days, you need to eat 1 tsp. herbal mixture 2 times a day - before lunch and at bedtime
Most anthelmintic drugs and herbs are very toxic. Therefore, it is not advisable to use them for treatment without consulting a doctor. If the patient is a pregnant woman or a child, do not self-medicate.
How does the infection occur?
The reasons for the appearance of worms mainly depend on age. In children, they are associated with violations of personal hygiene, the use of unwashed vegetables. Adults are often infected with water in turns. Plus, you don't have to drink it - just wash the dishes with tea water. Worms can enter the human body when eating meat and fish without proper heat treatment. The most common route of infection is the consumption of lightly salted and raw fish.
If you do not wash your hands during outdoor recreation or after gardening and earthworks, you can become the owner of helminths. In adults, the symptoms of worms can also appear after contact with infected people (dust, air and hygiene products).
People working in livestock farms, meat and fish processing shops have a high risk of infection.
How to avoid worms?
Following personal hygiene rules is the best way to prevent helminths from harming your health. Hands should be washed before cooking, before sitting at the table and after using the toilet. Vegetables, fruits, greens should be poured with boiling water, then washed under running water.
Meat and fish should be fried or boiled for a long time, and a separate board should be used to cut them. It is better to stop eating dry or raw fish. You should not drink tap water, not even tea.
Some people (especially owners of four-legged pets) who are afraid to see the signs of the presence of worms, give the child and take the appropriate medication themselves. Such recommendations can be heard from doctors. But it is safer to follow hygiene closely - and then you are not afraid of any helminths!
